On 23rd July 2009, 2 winners were announced as winners to take part in a unique NT documentary

At a news release conference held in Beijing on 23rd July 2009, Ms. Shu Yan JIA and Ms. Bei Ling LIU were the two lucky contestants finally selected to take part in the filming of an up and coming CCTV sequel documentary. It will be entitled “Discover of the Mystery Land - Australia’s Northern Territory; Return to Focus,” and it will be filmed in September this year in conjunction with AILETS Pty Ltd and Tourism NT.

After receiving online votes via the SOHU.COM website over several months, a top 30 group was selected from over 36,000 entrants based on the number of votes they received. These top 30 then had to write an online article describing “The Northern Territory – My Dreaming Land.” These essays were appraised by a judging panel and a top 20 selected based on their results.

Next were physical tests of strength and endurance. The top 20 spent 2 gruelling weeks in a military style base, with both training and competition components. The news release conference held on 23rd July was the final stage in which the top 6 were questioned and scored by the judging panel. As a result, 2 winners were chosen – Ms Shu Yan JIA, a postgraduate student from a Beijing university, and Ms. Bei Ling LIU, a Media Director for a well known Ski Resort in Nan Shan, China.  They are now looking forward to discovering for themselves the mystery and beauty of Australia’s Northern Territory.
